This Week’s Best Dressed: Alexa’s Ladylike Party Style

The week's not even over yet and we've already got more star style inspiration than we can wear all year.

Alexa Chung went ladylike for the launch of Who What Wear and Byrdie UK, Olivia Wilde wowed in a plunging premiere look, and the American Music Awards kicked off the week with some seriously daring displays of red carpet style.

From J-Lo's revealing criss-cross dress by Julian Macdonald (who else could pull off this flesh-flashing style?) to Harry Styles floral 70s-cut suit - check out who wore what.

As well as plenty of show-stopping dresses, the AMAs also saw exes Gigi Hadid and Joe Jonas go head to head with new hair debuts. Gigi has gone for the chop with a razor-sharp bob, while Joe showed off new frosted blue tips on his quiff. Kendall Jenner also teased a new look, with her hair in a high topknot with a faux fringe sweeping over her strong brows. Maybe she'll try the look out for real - it definitely suits her.

Ariana Grande beat Taylor Swift to be named Favourite Female Pop Artist of the year, and dedicated the accolade to her Nonna. "I think I owe a lot of this to my Nonna, who made sure to remind me that she voted." She said before impersonating her: "She goes, 'Ariana, I went on the computer. I voted, so I think you'll win.'" We think we have a new favourite A-list relative.

Though Taylor didn't miss out entirely - she scored three other awards: Favourite Song, Favourite Album and Adult Contemporary, while One Direction were named Favourite Group and Artists of the Year. Nicki Minaj won in two female hip hop categories and The Weeknd was named Favourite Male Soul Artist.
