The 70th Cannes Film Festival is underway and the A-list are dominating the red carpet on the French Riviera as we speak.

And the ceremony is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious in the fashion calendar, as stars don their finest attire in a bid to claim a top spot in the best dressed list. But the red carpet elite have some historical fashion moments to compete with, whether we're talking about Princess Diana's elegant debut appearance on the red carpet back in 1987 or Bella Hadid's memorable red carpet walk last year.

But with their stylists in tow, stars will be sure to keep the sartorial spotlight on them at all times.

So who do we expect to grace the red carpet this year? Well, this season the ceremony has welcomed change (not without its controversy), as the event is set to celebrate 'event' television. This means, that Netflix productions have made the cut for the first time in the ceremony's 70-year history.

And this unanticipatd move has enabled Nicole Kidman to stage a major comeback to the big (and small) screen this film season with the likes of The Killing Of A Sacred Deer, China Girl and The Beguiled. So, expect the actress to stage some pretty memorable fashion appearances at the photo calls over the week, too.

Bella Hadid

Bella made her second appearance in the French Riviera but this time, with her dad by her side. The model of the moment opted for a nude cold-shoulder gown by Alexander Vauthier, the same designer she chose last year.
