Controversy hit Cannes this week when it was revealed that women sans heels are being banned from the red carpet - turns out midriff-baring crop tops are ok though. Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevingne and Joan Smalls freshened up their eveningwear on Wednesday night, as the trio unveiled flat stomachs in chic two-pieces at the film festival.

Kendall proved that crop tops are totally red carpet-friendly - with a dash of red lippie and a floor-length lower half - in her black Azzedine Alaia ensemble at the 'Youth' premiere. Over at the Chanel and Vanity Fair dinner, Cara kept it seriously cool in head-to-toe Chanel as she paired a teeny top with an elegant skirt and cropped jacket.
