Peter Dundas decided to show his first designs for Roberto Cavalli on Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. A smart move if you're looking for maximum exposure (literally and figuratively).
Kim wore a custom Roberto Cavalli by Peter Dundas nude silk gown covered with elaborate sequin and crystal embroidery and a dramatic cascading skirt with plumes of ostrich feathers.
The gown is a very similar look to the black and purple Givenchy number Beyonce wore to the Met Ball in 2012, which went from sheer body to sequin, err, derriere to a feathered skirt. They both even had their hair scraped back into sleek ponytails.

Seeing as this is such an iconic Met Gala look, we do wonder whether Kim was trying to recreate the look on purpose. Looks like even Kim lives by the same motto as us normal folk - WWBD (what would Beyonce do).

Meanwhile Beyonce showed us that what Beyonce would do is show more flesh. Beyonce turned up an hour after the red carpet had finished wearing a seriously sheer Givenchy gown with the definition of strategically placed sequins. So was Beyonce doing a Britney in Toxic or a Rihanna at the CFDAs?
