She might have lost out on scooping a gong at the SAG Awards on Sunday night, but Jennifer Aniston certainly won in the style stakes.
As the glitzy event kicked into action, we were waiting for Jen to arrive in one of trademark black frocks, but she surprised the Internet by gliding onto the red carpet in a golden gown. WE GASP.
Not only did she impress us by steering clear of her beloved black palette, the actress turned to an unlikely designer for the occasion. We’re mighty impressed to see that, rather than sticking to one of her go-to fashion houses like Versace or Armani, Jen stepped out of the sartorial box by wearing a glittering dress by John Galliano.

It’s an unexpected show of support for the controversial designer whoreturned to the catwalk earlier this month as artistic director of French fashion house, Maison Margiela. It followed a break of four, troubled years following his exit from Dior in 2011 and is another step out of the fashion wilderness. Even more interestingly, this super-sexy dress comes from the Galliano archives. It first appeared on the catwalks of Paris for his spring 1998 show.
‘I kind of just dropped dead for [it],’ she revealed to E! News before crediting her tan to a recent vacation in Cabo San Lucas. The 45-year-old (yes, FOURTY-FIVE!) topped off the look with Jimmy Choo sandals as well as Fred Leighton earrings and bracelet. She was complimented perfectly by her dapper husband-to-be, Justin Theroux.

It looks like a deep-cut neckline teamed with a body chain is becoming Jen’s new signature. It was only a few weeks ago that she was wearing a plunging suit dressed up by a dangling piece of jewellery for the Critics' Choice Movie Awards. Considering this is an accessory favoured by the edgy likes of Rihanna, it’s an impressively daring step forward and shows that she’s becoming a more adventurous dresser.
Long may it continue!
