Between Rihanna’s Swarovski-crystal Adam Selman gown, Kim Kardashian West's many experiments, Beyonce’s Givenchy dress for the Met Gala and now Halle Berry’s relatively demure take on this showstopper, it’s hard to dismiss that for all intents and purposes this a trend for one and all.
Ensuring that all eyes were firmly on her, mother-of-two Halle Berry attended the 49th NAACP awards in Los Angeles last night in a Reem Acra dress. Taken from the designer’s AW16 ready-to-wear collection, which was inspired by femme fatales and burlesque costumes, it skimmed Berry’s body with intricately embroidered lace and vampy tulle. And, lest not forget the elegant train that added necessary drama to the ensemble. With the help of her stylist Lindsay Flores, jewellers Harry Kotlar, Joelle and Anil Arjandas she turned the risqué into wearable.
With her hair swept back into a knotted bun, Berry looked every bit the scene-stealer, which let’s admit has to be the sole point of a naked dress.
