Best Dressed Of 2015: Look Back At The Best Red Carpet Moments Of 2015

From frothy Valentino to dreamy Dior, there has been no shortage of gowns to get the flash bulbs going on the red carpet this year. As we creep towards 2016 we are using this as an excuse to look back at some of the most fabulous red carpet moments over the past 12 months.

We have gone through all the pictures from this year's Oscars, Golden Globes, Met Gala, Cannes Film Festival and film festivals to put together our ultimate best dressed list.

As for promo tours, A Listers have clocked up some serious air miles touring premieres across the globe. Setting the fashion pace is Lea Seydoux, who reigned supreme over best dressed lists thanks to her *Spectre *promo tour wardrobe. It all started when she hit the red carpet at the world premiere in a gold and silver sparkling Prada gown. Lea Seydoux's sister is her stylist Camille, who said to Grazia of their working relationship: "She can trust me - if you don’t trust the people you are working with it's kind of strange, no? So sometimes I try to not explain the idea to her and then when I have the sketches I show them to her. I know what she likes. You need to trust your idea at first, and have your idea sorted in your mind. She doesn't work in the fashion industry so sometimes she doesn't really understand the sketch. She'll say “can you explain to me exactly the fabric and everything,” so I say “yes, it’s going to be amazing, try to imagine the hair and the makeup..."

Another star who had many major moments on the red carpet in 2015 is Jennifer Lawrence, who wore an arsenal of sophisticated-with-a-twist Dior dresses while promoting The Hunger Games.

Blake Lively meanwhile wore FOURTEEN different outfits in three days while promoting The Age of Adeline. Blake doesn't have a stylist, but worked with her sister Robyn to shortlist 256 outfit options for the promotional tour. She said to People Magazine of her marathon quick-changes: "So my proportions definitely started to, shall we say, increase throughout the day. I walked out onstage for one appearance in an outfit that had fit perfectly when I tried it on many hours earlier, but by the time it got on me, I thought, 'Oh no! This isn't going to cover them up at all!' I was very worried about a wardrobe malfunction."

The Met Gala this year upped the drama, with Madonna wearing a cape with her album name on it, Rihanna dressing in the most fabric she could get her hands on and Beyonce rocking stategically placed Givenchy sequins. Rihanna pretty much dared the internet to do their worst when she turned up in a Chinese couture Guo Pei yellow MASSIVE dress. She shut the red carpet down - omlette comparisons or not.
