While the red carpet may have been a sea of black dresses at 2018's BAFTA Awards in honour of the #MeToo movement, this year proved entirely more colourful as the celebs donned their finest couture to attend the ceremony held at the Royal Albert Hall. The temperature may have been close to freezing but that didn't stop guests from choosing some incredible outfits for the occasion, all in the name of fashion.
The women nominated for the Leading Actress award include Glenn Close for The Wife, Olivia Colman for The Favourite, Viola Davis for Widows and Melissa McCarthy for Can You Ever Forgive Me? Not present was Lady Gaga – nominated for her role in A Star is Born – as she is over in Los Angeles attending the Grammy Awards. Also absent was Emma Stone, who's up for the Supporting Actress award alongside her co-star from The Favourite, Rachel Weisz (who looked resplendent in a Gucci gown). Other Supporting Actress nominees include Amy Adams, who picked Prada for her red carpet appearance, Margot Robbie who, predictably, chose Chanel, for whom she is an ambassador and First Man star Claire Foy, who munched Wine Gums on the red carpet as she stopped to talk to Edith Bowman and Dermot O'Leary.
There was still a nod to the ongoing discussions around #MeToo and #TimesUp, as British actor Zawe Ashton wore a #TimesUp ribbon around her wrist. And last to arrive was, of course, the Duchess of Cambridge, who looked stunning in a white, one-shoulder gown.
