There were a lot of talking points at the American Music Awards last night. Taylor Swift{ =nofollow}triumphantly performing her own songs and, in the process, becoming the artist with the most AMAs. Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes continuing to be #couplegoals. And Kesha wowing audiences with Tik ToK (that's the song released in 2009, not the app popular with teenagers).

However, our attention was stolen by Lizzo – and her teeny tiny Valentino bag. We’ve seen mircobags before, but the mini white leather bag the Truth Hurts singer was holding takes the trend to a whole new level. What could it fit in there? (Half) a TicTac? A false nail? Some glitter? Our motivation to get through Monday? Later, the musician – who was nominated for three awards – changed into a gorgeous tulle purple gown, with a thigh split, for a performance of Jerome.

Another star who owned the red carpet was Billie Eilish{ =nofollow}, who sort of dressed up her typical oversized look by opting for a top and trousers from Burberry – and casually layered the look with loads and loads of diamantes.

The most impressive make-up of the night went to Halsey, who paired an incredibly bold blue and pink eye look with a stunning floral gown. (Oh, and she bleached her eyebrows for the occasion too.)
