Who Wore What At 2015 Critics' Choice Awards
While this year’s nominees took to the red carpet like the practised professionals they are, there was pressure behind the scenes for organisers to ensure that Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie avoided crossing paths. The two haven’t attended the same event, never mind sat in the same room, since 2009 when they both attended the Oscars. Luckily the ladies were sat as far apart from each other as possible last night and are not thought to have interacted.
Despite the palpable tension, both women were dressed to impress: Jen broke the mould from her usual strapless numbers in a daring red Gucci suit, complete with Rihanna-esque necklaces, and Angelina glowed in an Atelier Versace silver gown. Other fashion highlights included Emily Blunt’s Pucci number, Felicity Jones in Dolce and Gabbana and Jamie Chung’s gorgeous Yanina Couture gown. Keira Knightley continued to show off her flawless maternity style in Delpozo and Rosamund Pike opted for white again, this time in Valentino.
Once all the stars were inside the ceremony, Birdman swept the board, triumphing in seven categories including Best Actor and Best Comedy Actor for Michael Keaton, and Best Acting Ensemble. Boyhood also fared well picking up the Best Picture and Best Director, as well as Best Supporting Actress for Patricia Arquette and Best Young Actor/Actress for 20-year-old Ellar Coltrane.
Kevin Costner received the Lifetime Achievement Award and proved the perfect gentleman in his speech, thanking the drivers, crew members and catering staff who he’s worked with during his vast career.
