Zayn Malik Splits From Gigi Hadid After Alleged Argument With Yolanda

One of the world's biggest showbiz couples - Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik - have broken up. According to a report from The Sun, the split happened after Zayn accused Yolanda{ =nofollow}, Gigi's mum, of leaking the couple's pregnancy news last year. Last year, the pair welcomed their first child together, daughter Khai.

TMZ{ =nofollow}reported that Zayn and Yolanda got into an argument last week, with the outlet claiming that Yolanda is considering filing a police report as he 'struck her'. Zayn vehemently denies the reports, telling the outlet: 'I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private.'

Zayn also posted a lengthy comment on Twitter, addressing the news, saying he wants 'a private and safe space for his daughter to grow up in'. 'In an effort to protect that space for [my daughter] I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner's who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago,' the former One Direction singer{ =nofollow}continued.

Zayn added: 'This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been "leaked" to the press.'

Zayn and Gigi have had an off/on relationship for six years. Rumours that the pair were dating started swirling in November 2015, when Gigi and Zayn are pictured together leaving Justin Bieber's American Music Awards after-party. But their relationship has been rocky, with the pair officially breaking up (for the first time) in March 2018.

Khai was born in September 2020 - and in July this year, Gigi wrote a statement asking for privacy. 'I write this all to say: to the Paparazzi, press, and beloved fan accounts, you know we have never intentionally shared our daughters face on social media,' she wrote on Instagram. 'Our wish is that she can choose how to share herself with the world when she comes of age, and that she can live as normal of a childhood as possible, without worrying about a public image that she has not chosen.'
