Woody Allen’s new film will focus on the relationship of a middle aged man and a teenage girl, a Page Six report revealed. The untitled project, currently being filmed in New York, will star Jude Law (aged 44) playing an older man and Elle Fanning (aged 19) playing a young woman. Fanning is set to play a 15 year old concubine who lives with a man who has multiple relationships, played by Law.

Considering Allen’s personal life the topic is pretty pertinent. Allen allegedly sexually abused his adopted daughter, Dylan and went on to marry one of his other adopted daughters, Soon-Yi Previn, who is 35 years his junior. And this isn’t the first time Allen has included such subject matter in his films. Manhattan, Magic in the Moonlight, and Whatever Works all feature relationships with old men and young women.

While Allen has always denied such allegations, in light of the recent Harvey Weinstein revelations you would of thought the topic would have been avoided. What’s even more bizarre is the amount of high profile celebrities still so keen to work with Allen. In recent years the likes of Emma Stone, Kate Winslet, Blake Lively and Kristen Stewart have all worked with Allen, and this new title stars Suki Waterhouse and Selena Gomez alongside Fanning and Law.

Allen did himself no favours last week when he got involved in the Weinstein scandal warning against ‘a witch hunt atmosphere’, and stating he was ‘sad for Harvey that his life is so messed up.’ Later, as he faced criticism, he backtracked on his previous comments.
