So, Why Is I’m A Celebrity Finishing Early This Year?

The final is on Friday.

There's been a lot of changes to I'm A Celebrity this year. For starters, the show switched out the boiling jungle in Australia for a freezing castle in Wales - and then they replaced Kiosk Keith with Kiosk Cledwyn. But that's not all, as fans will be disappointed that the series is running shorter than usual this year.

Those watching the show will know that this year's final takes place on December 4 (this Friday), making this series two weeks and five days, two days shorter than the usual three weeks in the jungle. We're not entirely sure why the show is finishing a little bit early this year - but with all the changes that have happened, it's not entirely surprising. An early finish could ensure that contestants and crew can isolate in time for a proper Christmas at home with their families, and it's also possible that a slight edit to the usual length enables everyone to flee the cold castle before December gets properly cold. Hypothermia wasn't exactly a concern in the Australian jungle. Grazia has contacted ITV for comment.

However, despite all the challenges coronavirus has brought to filming, the producers have done an amazing job this year - and no doubt everybody being stuck at home during lockdown has helped boost viewing figures, as the series opened to its highest viewing figures in seven years.

Radio 1 DJ - and now the national treasure - Jordan North is still favourite to win the show on Friday. Ladbrokes have the current bets at Jordan 5/4, Giovanna Fletcher 5/2, Vernon Kay 4/1, Mo Farah 8/1 and Shane Richie 8/1.

And while only one will be crowned king or queen of the jungle, all the celebrities are being paid for their time. Last year Caitlyn Jenner was paid a whopping £500,000 and it was reported that Kate Garraway and Jacqueline Jossa earned around £75,000. And this year, they're all reported to be on big bucks too - it's estimated by The Sun that Sir Mo is on a nice £300,000, with Vernon on half of that at £150,000. Corrie's Bev is thought to be on £125,000, with Russell on a cool £100,000. Jessica, Ruthie and Victoria are estimated to be on £75,000 each - with Hollie and AJ believed to be making £50,000.
