Molly-Mae Hague has revealed she is 'extremely upset' as she confirmed she has split from fiancé Tommy Fury, after months of speculation. Molly Mae announced that the Love Island couple, who share 18-month-old daughter Bambi, have broken up after five years together.
What have Molly-Mae and Tommy said about their split?
‘Never in a million years did I think I’d ever have to write this,’ she wrote on Instagram. ‘After five years of being together I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way. I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy’s relationship has come to an end.’
She continued, ‘I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter. Without us there would be no her, she will always be my priority.’
Molly-Mae, 25, added, ‘I want to thank you all for the love you have shown us over the last five years. You have all been a part of our journey and I feel it’s right to share this with you all. Whilst I attempt to navigate the coming days and weeks please kindly respect my privacy over this difficult time, I’ll be back when it feels right.’
Talking about their breakup, Tommy said, ‘I am heartbroken to share that Molly and I have decided to end our relationship. The past five years have led to us having our beautiful baby girl, Bambi, and I will be forever thankful to Molly for making me a dad. Bambi is our priority. Please respect our privacy, and our families privacy, as we navigate our way through this difficult time.’
Why have Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae split?
Her announcement came after she admitted she has been struggling to cope with being a solo parent on her v-log while Tommy, 25, has been working on his audiobook. ‘I, to be honest with you, have been not feeling… like, I mean this week has just been a lot of emotions,’ she shared, adding that it was ‘the most intense’ week.
‘He’s done it now, and I’m so proud of him, because I know that was a really big deal to him, but I have been solo parenting pretty much the entire week. Actually I’ve been solo parenting for like, two weeks now, basically because Tommy’s just been so busy.’
She added, ‘I feel like we’re going through a little bit of a challenging phase. Not only with Bambi, but also just with me and trying to juggle a lot.’
Rumours over the Love Island couple, who got engaged in July 2023, had been fuelled over the past year after she was seen without her engagement ring several times last year. She failed to wish him a happy birthday in May – but despite the continuing speculation, she quashed claims that their relationship was on the rocks.
‘I think Bambi has made us closer. Any bickers we have are never actually about her! Parenting together, especially recently, has been amazing,’ she said in June.
When a fan asked them if they would be getting married in 2025, she teased, ‘It’s looking that way,’ before saying that they have no plans to have another baby ‘any time soon’.
Did Tommy Fury cheat on Molly-Mae?
Following Molly-Mae’s emotional statement about their split, rumours are rife that Tommy cheated on his fiancée. ‘Tommy be honest, did you cheat,’ one fan asked, as another said, ‘“Especially not this way” I think she’s hinting that he cheated.’
Influencer Lissie Rhodes has denied that Tommy, a family friend, is the father of her new child, born last week. ‘Tommy Fury is not my baby’s dad,’ she posted on TikTok.
There have also been claims that Tommy cheated on Molly-Mae with a Danish woman he met while on holiday in Macedonia. 'Tommy is horrified by the false allegations of cheating being circulated by the media and he’s consulting his lawyers,' his spokesperson said.
While they haven’t revealed the real reasons for their break-up, Molly-Mae shared her fears that Tommy had cheated on her before their surprise engagement after noticing that he had been protective over his phone. ‘My mind did somersaults. I thought, “Why is he shady about his phone, who is he talking to?”’ she said in a video posted on her YouTube channel. ‘My mind went to the worst option. I was staring out the window like I was in a sad movie.’
She later found out that the phone had ‘all the pictures of the engagement set up’.
Molly-Mae and Tommy – the younger brother of boxer Tyson – met on the ITV reality dating show in 2019, where they finished as runners-up.
