Yesterday Gemma Collins' Documentary, Gemma Collins: Self Harm and Me, aired on Channel 4. The documentary saw a very different side to the reality star as she opened up about her experience with self-harm.
Gemma’s fiancé Rami Hawash also appeared in the documentary, and they have an emotional conversation about her struggles with fertility and starting a family. Gemma has been very open about trying for a baby in the past and confirmed she had suffered a third miscarriage during lockdown.
In the documentary, they also discuss the heart-breaking moment Rami witnessed Gemma self-harming and the impact it had on their relationship.
Previously Rami has limited his time in the public eye, but after his appearance in the documentary, there is a lot on interest in how they came to be. Here’s everything we know about Rami Hawash.
Who is Rami Hawash?
Rami Hawash is 48 years old and owns a car mechanical repairs company in Romford, Essex. He has a three-year-old son from a previous marriage. Gemma first started dating Rami in 2011 when she just started featuring on reality show, The Only Way Is Essex. They got engaged 10 years ago but Gemma ‘wasn’t ready’ for marriage at the time. Since then, their relationship has been on and off. During this time Gemma also dated fellow TOWIE co-star James ‘Arg’ Argent.
After a rocky relationship with Arg, Gemma and Rami were seen spending time together around April 2021, hinting at a reconciliation. At the time a source toldThe Sun, 'Gemma has been seeing Rami again in secret for the last six months. The pair have enjoyed spending time together and getting reacquainted during date nights in London and Essex. Gemma suffered a lot of stress and trauma during her relationship with Arg, which has been on and off for years – but she's finally putting herself first and moving forward with her life.'
Gemma and Rami ended up getting back together a year ago and in December 2021 she confirmed they were re-enaged.
How did Rami Hawash meet Gemma Collins?
In true GC fashion, the pair met at a pub in Chigwell, Essex. At the beginning of the documentary, Gemma is seen introducing Rami at a garden party at her home stating: 'This is my fiancé, we met in the King Will in Chigwell. My heart was beating, I was like, 'no one this good-looking has ever spoken to me'.
She later gave more details of their relationship, 'We got engaged ten years ago, but I wasn't ready. And then we bumped into each other at a Madonna concert ten years later at the Palladium. During the concert, he started touching my back and I was like: 'Ooh, he’s still got feelings for me!'
