After spending two years together, actress Kristen Stewart - soon to be portraying Princess Diana on the big screen - is engaged to her girlfriend Dylan Meyer.

‘We're marrying, we're totally gonna do it,’ the Twilight alumni said on SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show.

The exciting news of their engagement comes more than a year after Stewart told Stern she couldn't ‘f--king wait’ to ask Meyer to marry her, saying ‘I think good things happen fast.’ On the same show back in 2019, she hinted ‘I have a couple plans that are, like, just the coolest things to do. It's pretty undeniable,’ but she kept quiet in case Meyer was listening.

Stewart did share that she wanted to go all out for ‘the one’, adorably gushing over her ‘brilliant’ girlfriend while speaking to Howard Stern. ‘When you know, you know. You know what I mean? There is nothing like feeling sure about anything, because we don't know anything. And that is the only thing you can feel like you know, is that if you're in love with someone,’ she said.

Though Meyer was the one to pop the question, it seems Kristen had it all planned out for her. ‘I wanted to be proposed to, so I think I very distinctly carved out what I wanted and she nailed it.’

We're marrying, it's happening,’ Stewart confirmed excitingly.

Unfortunately, she’s not related to Stephanie Meyer (we know, that would have been cool!) but she’s pretty amazing anyway, it turns out.

Dylan Meyer is, in fact, a writer, who has also acted and produced in Hollywood, much like Stewart. Meyer has written for TV and film. Her most recent project was Moxie, a Netflix movie directed by Amy Poehler. Her first feature film, however, was 2016 movie XOXO starring Modern Family star Sarah Hyland. Meyer also wrote Wrestling Isn’t Wrestling in 2015 and Rock Bottom in 2016.

So, she has a pretty interesting background. Maybe we’ll get to see some film collaborations from the couple in the future?

According to Stewart herself the couple first met around eight years ago while working on a film together, but they didn't meet again until six years later. They reconnected unexpectedly at a party, and Stewart was immediately interested. Stewart recalled ‘She rocked up at a friend's birthday and I was like, ‘Where have you been and how have I not known you?’’

As Stewart mentioned, things tend to move pretty quickly when you’re in love, excited, and you know it’s right. Only two weeks after meeting Meyer, Kristen dropped the ‘I love you’ in a ‘shitty bar’ late at night. Kristen said ‘Her friends were there or whatever. Two years ago, Meyer confirmed the two were smitten with a birthday post on Instagram captioned, ‘It’s my absolute favorite person’s birthday and I’m wishing everyone the volume of beautiful feeling I feel toward her. Back in April this year, Meyer posted another sweet birthday message for Kristen Stewart, marking her 31st birthday. ‘Life sure is sweeter with this cute little family. Happy birthday, kiddo. You knock my socks off,’ she wrote alongside a pic of Stewart and their dog.

The Pair Moved Quickly

Two years ago, Kristen Stewart was unfortunately told to ‘tone down’ her relationship if she wanted to land big roles like Marvel characters, but that hasn’t stopped LA’s cutest pair.

Then the following month, the pair were spotted holding hands in Los Angeles, around the same time that Meyer revealed she was moving out of her home of 10 years on Instagram. This sparked rumours that the two were moving in together. Clearly, the two were getting serious, and the the two were spotted presumably attending the Spencer premier together, as they took a trip to Venice in September (where the film was confirmed to premier.)

Meyer posted an adorable photo of the newly engaged pair lying on a rug together, looking completely happy and in love. The caption reads ‘awful proud of this hard-working princess.’

As for the wedding, Stewart says she wants the occasion to be ‘pretty chill’ without any aisles to walk down. ‘I want it to be pretty chill. I don't want anyone walking anyone down any aisles. We're just going to like stand and do vows and fucking party after. It's kind of just a great excuse to get together and say 'I love you' in front of all your friends.’ It sounds perfect.
