Forget Katy whatername – last night’s Superbowl was all about Lindsay Lohan.
The (formerly?) wayward star has finally found a way to monetise her colourful driving history, which includes several arrests for driving under the influence. You have to admire her ingenuity. And the fact that she’s never actually hit anyone, which would’ve made what you’re about to see in extremely bad taste (don’t drink and drive kids, not even if you might get a paycheck out of it)
In the ad, which premiered during the game, Lindsay is seen careering towards two young schoolboys, with one denying to the other that she is his mum. "Hey, I'm sorta your mom," Lindsay says. "We're both 25-35 years old, we're both women on the go, and we've both clocked a lot of miles, believe me.” As police sirens blare in the background she adds, "Whatever, I'm outta here.”.
The advert promotes tailored insurance coverage, with the tagline "Sorta you isn't you.” It cost a reported $4.5 million for 30 seconds of ad airtime during the game, and an estimated 100-million viewers are thought to have watched. So that’s about 99999990 more people than watched Liz and Dick. Sadface.
Anyhoo, check out the ad below - alongside Walter White’s return to the small screen in another insurance ad, and Britney Spears’ mysterious appearance – in which she appears to use autotune during a vocal warm-up…
