After a tentative run during lockdown, journalist Steph McGovern is back on Channel 4 today with her lunchtime show. Previously known as The Steph Show, which ran for six weeks near the beginning of the pandemic, the show is being rebranded as Steph's Packed Lunch, with a promise to look at a mixture of real-life features and consumer and celebrity news. Filming from Leeds, Steph isn't on her own - as she's also got Vogue Williams joining her in the studio to reveal about what viewers are chatting about, along with actress Gemma Atkinson and rapper Lady Leshurr.

'I just think it seems like a really fun show to be involved in and obviously we've done a bit of work together today and it was really, really good,' Vogue excitedly tells Grazia at a press conference after rehearsing for the show on Thursday. 'It's entertaining - it's Channel Four - it's the kind of show that I would sit at home and watch and it's really fun to be able to be a part of it.'

Both Steph and Vogue are juggling motherhood with working on set; Steph gave birth to a baby girl last year, and Vogue welcomed her second child with husband Spencer Matthews in July. Steph says that she wants it to be like a 'family' on set, with Vogue telling us that she brings Gigi with her when she films the show in Leeds.

'I do like to think that women can do both,' Vogue says matter-of-factly. 'You can be a career woman - and you can be a really great mum. And I think it's important to do and take on jobs that you love because it's nice to be happy in yourself and happy within your family. And I actually have Gigi up with me everytime I film.'

'I think it's about I think it's about being organized because like Vogue literally brought Gigi up with her,' Steph adds. 'And in between stuff [Vogue] is looking after her - and I want it to be like that. It's like a family. Instead of two separate lives, it can kind of be all together.'

'I had a quieter pregnancy so it was quite nice to be able to sit back and relax and then spend time with Theodore,' Vogue later says, talking about becoming a mum again during lockdown. 'The only bad thing is obviously not much of my family have met GIgi yet, so I don't know when we will get to meet her - and that's the only really disappointing bit - but for the most part, we had a quite an okay lockdown and I just got to spend lots of time with my son and just relax a bit more.'

The pair both agree - like many other women in the industry - that one of the most difficult things about being a presenter is having your appearance commented on more so than your male colleagues. 'Obviously, people comment more on what you look like if you're a woman, Steph says when asked what the biggest challenge about presenting as a woman. 'And obviously we have we spend more time in getting hair and makeup done. People are always quick to tell you what they think about how you look more often than they're talking about what you're saying - Vogue I'm sure will think the same - [but] actually, I'm kind of not bothered anymore about that.'

Steph’s Packed Lunch starts on Monday September 14 at 12.30pm on Channel 4.
