Eagle-eyed royal fans spotted a previously unseen picture of newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle yesterday, taking pride of place in the Queen’s living room.

The photograph in question can be seen in a picture of the Honourable George Brandis, the Australian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, meeting the Queen during a private audience on Wednesday morning (so far, so meta). The portrait is on a coffee table next to the Queen’s armchair (with her handbag on, naturally), where there are other pictures of her majesty’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

We know that we haven’t seen the picture before as Meghan is wearing a pale blue strapless dress, one that hasn’t featured in any official portraits. Harry is wearing his trusty blue suit though – which he also wore for his official engagement photographs taken by Alexi Lubomirski. He was also entrusted with taking their wedding day pictures, which included a sweet moment with all of the pageboys and flowergirls, including Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Taking about how he got the children to cooperate during the picture-taking session, Lubomirski admitted to bribery, saying: 'They were being bribed with one Smartie here, one Smartie there, so as soon as the kids came onto the set, I immediately just shouted out "Who likes Smarties?" and then everybody, hands up, smiles, even some adults put their hands up.'
