Uma Thurman was left angry and upset following the Cannes annual amfAR auction, after an unexpected kiss from the Fiat heir Lapo Elkann.
Thurman hosted the charity event at the Cannes Film Festival, and after bidding $196,000 for two Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show tickets, Elkann decided he wanted to kiss the actress.
Guests were left stunned by the embrace, and Thurman’s rep has confirmed that the kiss was non-consensual and that the actress was “very unhappy” about the incident.
“It is opportunism at its worst. She wasn't complicit in it.
“Somewhere in his head he must have thought it an appropriate way of behaving. It clearly wasn't. It looks like she was happy to have it happen, but it was not consensual."
We wouldn’t have blamed Thurman if she’d seen fit to demonstrate a few of the moves learnt on the set of Kill Bill at that moment.
