For the first time ever, Forbes have released a ‘Top Influencers’ list to showcase the most bankable social media stars worldwide. Yesterday they revealed the list of influencers in beauty, fitness, and home, and the remaining three categories (fashion, travel and food), will be released throughout the year.
Created in partnership with with social insight platform Captiv8 and influencer analytics firm Traackr, the list was compiled by analysing influencer reach and engagement.
They found that the 30 influencers selected across beauty, fitness, and home have a combined following of a whopping 250 million. Coming in on top was Zoella (beauty), Kayla Itsines (fitness) and Grace Bonney (home).
As we all know, this level of influence equals serious earnings. Forbes found that vloggers with 7 million plus followers could make it the region of £240,000 per sponsored video or post. Whereas over on social media they could make up to £150,000 per Facebook post and £120,000 per Instagram shot.
Even influencers not in this category of success are looking at pretty big bucks. For instance, those who have around 100,000 Instagram followers could make up to £4,000 per post.
Of course, this money doesn’t even take into account the amount top influencers earn from subsequent book deals, brand collaborations or product launches. For example, Michelle Phan co-founded cosmetics box Ipsy of the back of her social media profile, and the company was valued at £400million in 2015.
