Even though it was only released last month, it seems like ages ago that we all became completely obsessed with Netflix’s Tiger King. But now the viewing figures have been released for the seven-part documentary series - and wow. Unsurprisingly, a lot of people tuned to watch the rivalry between zookeeper Joe Exotic and Big Cat Rescue’s Carole Baskin{ =nofollow}.

To be precise, according to figures released by Netflix earlier this week, 65 million households watched the show. And US data firm Nielsen previously revealed that the show has racked up five billion minutes in streams. Both big numbers, hey.

Thankfully, an adaptation is in the works, but if Joe - who is currently behind bars for 22 years for animal abuse and a murder-to-hire plot - has anything to do with any further projects, then he wants a very big name involved. According to the show’s creators, Joe is dreaming of Brad Pitt sporting a mullet. ‘He would like Brad Pitt{ =nofollow}or David Spade to play him,’ creator Rebecca Chaikin told Rolling Stone. ‘He doesn’t refer to David Spade as David Spade — he refers to him as Joe Dirt,’ fellow creator Eric Goode added. (Joe Dirt is one of Spade’s biggest characters, who Exotic probably admires due to his huge mullet.)

The only name attached to an adaptation of the series so far is Kate McKinnon{ =nofollow}, who is set to play Big Cat Rescue's Carole. Carole has already had her say on the casting - urging Kate, who is also executive producer on the project, to ditch the use of real big cats and instead employ CGI. ‘Kate McKinnon is a wonderful actress. Big Cat Rescue implores Kate McKinnon to not use real big cats and cubs in the making of her series,’ Carole said in a statement.
