Joe Exotic wants Brad Pitt to play Tiger King in a film - but he might end up being disappointed, as Netflix apparently have another A-list actor in mind. Orlando Bloom is apparently in talks to play the eccentric zookeeper in a new film, according to The Sun{ =nofollow}, who report that a movie about the world of big-cat breeding is in the early stages with 20th Century Fox.

‘Discussions about a movie have only just started but they believe the idea has legs, especially if they get a big star like Orlando on board,’ a source told the paper. ‘They think he could really bring Joe to life on screen.’

Tiger King directors Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaikin recently claimed that Joe - who is currently serving 22 years in prison for a murder-to-hire plot and crimes against animals - wants Brad or David Spade to take the starring role. ‘He would like Brad Pitt or David Spade to play him,’ creator Rebecca Chaikin told Rolling Stone.

If you can’t wait that long for a film, don’t worry - as a ‘live-based’ reunion episode is set to drop on Netflix very soon. But one main cool cat - Carole Baskin - won’t take part in the show. Exotic’s rival has been clear on her feelings about the smash Netflix series, calling it ‘salacious and sensational’ onBig Cat Rescue's website.

Goode and Chaiklin previously told the Los Angeles Times that they were ‘completely forthright’ with the subjects of the show. ‘I would just say we were completely forthright with the characters,’ Chaiklin said. ‘With any project that goes on for five years, things evolve and change, and we followed it as any good storyteller does. We could have never known when we started this project that it was going to land where it did.’
