The long-awaited season three of The Traitors UK is coming to an end, with the final now upon us. And if one thing's for certain, this season has been far from boring...
While initially becoming a potential target to be killed off by the Traitors as he slept in his bed, viewers have applauded Jake for playing a ‘good game’ - initially correctly suspecting Linda as a Traitor.
In fact, his game was so good that he's made it all the way to the final, with only Traitors Charlotte and Freddie standing in his way.
But Jake's story could have gone very differently. When Linda was caught at the roundtables, Traitor Minah was left to pick a replacement to join her. While many expected mastermind Jake would prove the perfect choice, our Traitor opted for a different route.
Instead of Jake, Minah recruited Charlotte (which would later bite her in the butt.)
The decision left fans rushing to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts at the time- with many dubbing the move as 'confusing.'
One wrote, 'Minah should have picked Jake! He's proven a faithful time and time again after going after Linda from day one! Such a missed opportunity. Minah has played a blinder so far, but this could bite her on the butt.'However, others argued that Charlotte was the perfect recruitment choice from Minah - noting that Jake could have come with more risks...
'I thought Jake would've been a good choice,' wrote one viewer, 'but him and Minah have no bond. He could easily throw her under the bus, which would leave her vulnerable. She needed to go for someone who she could trust.'
Although, if last season's Paul and Harry is anything to go by, friendships don't always mean much when there's money up for grabs...
With a chance to win the prize pot upon him, here's everything to know about The Traitors UK finalist Jake.
Who is Jake from The Traitors UK?
Jake is a project manager from Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. He starred in Season Three of The Traitors UK, where he was a Faithful and made it all the way to the final.
The 28 year old admits that he is ‘highly opinionated,' saying, ‘I would debate with a brick wall. I love to get my point across. Even if I’m halfway through an argument and I realise I’m in the wrong, I always still double down and think, I’ve gone this far now, I’ve got to prove myself, even thought the writing is on the wall. All my mates say that I’m always biting, because I must get my opinions across, I can’t sit there and just be quiet.’
Jake also thinks he’ll do well on the missions, having played for the cerebral palsy England football team. He said, ‘I’m quite a physically fit person [so] I think that will play to my advantage, as people who are good at Missions tend to be seen as favourable.’
Why did Jake apply for The Traitors UK?
His inspo? Scooby Doo, of course.
Explaining why he chose to go on the show, Jake said, ‘I’ve always been into mysteries, even when I was in my younger Scooby Doo days, I’ve always liked the guess who’s the murderer game so this show is the perfect kind of game for me.’
‘I think I’ll be good at it as well. When you watch it from home, you’re only getting half the experience because you know who the Traitors are, but I’ve always said that I’d love to be on the other side of it and be in the castle and get the full experience of not knowing anything and not trusting anyone.’
Opening up about his game plan, Jake added, ‘When I’ve been watching at home, I’m always thinking I’ll be really strategic, and I’ll say this and I won’t say that, and I’ll play it this way.
He also admitted to thinking last year’s winner Harry Clark played a ‘good game,’ saying ‘I think you need a lot of luck, and you need to be in the right place at the right time and build relationships with the right people. The people that seem to get furthest are the ones that build relationships with the right people, people like Meryl from series one or Mollie from series two.’
‘But then because of the luck element, I think you’re best off going in and being yourself. You can’t fake yourself. I’d hate to get sent home and think, oh, maybe I wouldn’t have if I said something at that point.’
What will Jake spend the prize money on if he wins The Traitors UK?
Jake has plans to make it all the way to the final – and if he gets a share of the nearest and dearest.
Opening up about how he’d spend the prize money, Jake shared, ‘I’d want to treat my wife and my mum and dad to a nice big holiday to show my appreciation of them, for everything they’ve done for me. And then on top of that, I’d like to put some money into my house, because I didn’t realise before I bought a house that it’s just money draining! There as so many things I ought to do to the house, but there’s just no money there. I’d like to put some towards that.’
