This week, a brand-new crime series is debuting on BBC One Wales, and any fan of detective dramas should mark it in their calendar. The One That Got Away is the English version of an S4C's programme Cleddau, which was aired in October last year.
The One That Got Away was written by Catherine Treganna, who has also worked on Law & Order UK, Lewis and DCI Banks, and is directed by Sion Ifan, who worked on S4C drama series Y Goleudy.
The show follows two detectives as they investigate the body of a young nurse found in west Wales. The murder is eerily similar to another that rocked the community years ago, and the detectives must consider the possibility of a copycat killer. The detectives in charge, DI Ffion Lloyd and DS Rick Sheldon, are also former lovers, and must navigate their own complicated relationship while bringing the murderer to justice.
