It seems like years ago that we were all collectively swooning over Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones in _Normal People's romance).
Here's everything you need to know about the series, if, like us, you can't wait to see the Irish actor on TV again.
What is The Deceived about?
The Deceived is a four part thriller which has been created by Derry Girls creator Lisa McGee and Tobias Beer. The plot is described as: 'a young English student called Ophelia falls in love with her married lecturer, Michael. When their affair results in a shocking and tragic death, Ophelia finds herself trapped, and she can no longer trust her own mind.'
When does The Deceived start? And what channel is it on?
We don't have long to wait, luckily. The series is going to start in August, and it will be aired on Channel 5.
Who is in The Deceived?
Gangs of London star, Emmett J Scanlan, will play English lecturer Dr Michael Callaghan and Belgravia actress Emily Reid plays the English student who falls in love with him. His wife, Roisin, who knows nothing of her husband's affair, is played by Catherine Walker. Roisin's mother Mary and Michael's father Hugh are played by Eleanor Methven and Ian McElhinney. Roisin and Michael each have confidantes who are played by Shelley Conn and Dempsey Bovell. And finally, last but least, Paul Mescal plays Ophelia's confidante, a builder called Sean McKeough.
Is there a trailer for The Deceived?
