If there’s one thing you should know, it’s that most celebrities read their Instagram comments. There’s no right or wrong way to get their attention, it just depends on how much time they have. They won’t follow you back, so stop asking that. It’s a waste of time.

However, one star in particular will occasionally go above and beyond for her social media audience, and that star is Taylor Swift. She started communicating with her followers on MySpace way before most record labels even began to understand the importance of social media, and she surprised one fan by showing up at her bridal shower earlier this year. She even brought a gift. A thoughtful one!

Taylor listens, you guys. And when you ask for advice—specifically love advice—she’s there for you. One fan called Hannah, with the handle @SherbetSwift, asked for Taylor’s advice via Instagram about a particularly painful non-mutual crush on a guy who has a girlfriend, and Taylor really went there with her thoughts.

‘I think unrequited love is just as valid as any other kind. It's just as crushing and just as thrilling. No matter what happens in this situation, I want you to remember that what you are doing is selfless and beautiful and kind,’ she wrote as part of a lengthy response.

Maybe despite her fame and beauty and wealth, Taylor can relate to unrequited love? It sure sounds that way. And that she applauded the girl for not trying to break up the relationship is actually quite sweet, not to mention sensible. If she decides to quit pop stardom, Tay-Tay surely has a future as an agony aunt.
