Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have announced that they are engaged after two years of dating – news an army of Swifties has been waiting to hear since the singer broke onto the scene in 2006. It's a love story for the ages (or at least the internet).
Sharing a series of Millennial-coded pictures of them staring into each other's eyes in a stylised flower garden, wearing a striped dress and a navy polo shirt, Taylor captioned the post: 'Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.' The star also made sure to flash her impressive engagement ring - a round, brilliant-cut old mine diamond bezel-set in yellow gold. Travis helped design the ring, said to be worth $1.5 to $2 million, in collaboration with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry.
With more than 14 million likes in the first hour and one million reposts in under six hours, the news duly broke the internet - and world records. The post is swiftly climbing up the charts for the most liked Instagram post, garnering 30 million likes in less than 24 hours. FYI, currently holding the top spot is footballer Lionel Messi lifting the 2022 World Cup trophy with over 75 million likes. Give Traylor a few more months, and they may well beat it.
