There is a big question on everyone's mind after the release of Red (Taylor's version) - and that is, where on Earth is Taylor Swift's infamous red scarf? On Friday, nearly ten years after the original release, the ten-minute version for fan favourite All Too Well was released, believed to be about Jake Gyllenhaal sings: 'I left my scarf there at your sister's house. And you've still got it in your drawer even now.'
In the new version - also released with a short film featuring Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien - were treated to even more brutal lyrics, such as: ‘You said if we had been closer in age maybe it would have been fine. And that made me want to die. The idea you had of me, who was she? A never-needy, ever-lovely jewel whose shine reflects on you. Not weeping in a party bathroom.’
But now, we want to know where the scarf is... And there's a couple of theories, and people who are claiming to be in possession of said scarf.
One is actor Andrew Burnap, who worked with Jake on Broadway. 'this is gonna sound crazy and you will definitely think i'm kidding but i'm not - i think i am in possession of that scarf,' he tweeted on Friday.
But does Andrew really have the scarf? We're not so sure. On gossip Instagram @DeuxMoi, an anonymous source claimed to have it - and in screenshots shared to DeuxMoi's story, they said they're trying to find a way to get it back to Taylor. (The person behind DeuxMoi also said the sender of the messages had proof they have the scarf.)
But one suspect who probably doesn't have the scarf, though, is Jake's sister Maggie. An old clip has recently resurfaced of Maggie telling Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, saying in 2017, 'I never understood why everybody asked me about this scarf. What is this?' However, she did add that she might have the accessory. 'I am in the dark about the scarf,' she added. 'It’s totally possible, I don’t know.'
The case continues... However, if you would like your own scarf, you can buy one on Taylor's official store.
