Just in case Taylor Swift’s semi-comeback (she never really left us, did she?) hadn’t solidified in your mind as one of the defining things of 2014, her assault on the pop charts (and our hearts) is due to be given an entire floor at the Grammy museum. Radar Online have released some pics of the exhibiton, which includes never-seen-before childhood photos, including of Taylor looking preternaturally angelic while reading a copy of Peter Rabbit, a banjo she played at the 2012 Grammy awards, a whole bunch of amazing/insane tour outfits and even some handwritten lyrics.
And apart from winning seven Grammys, what else did Ms Swift do to deserve such an honour? She turned a quarter of a century old this weekend, and went on to spend her birthday with Beyoncé, Sam Smith and Haim, as they were all playing the Jingle Ball in New York! We’re sure Taylor’s going to have an entirely separate party, though. Not just to celebrate having a whole floor of a museum dedicated to her and her life, but because certain BFFs were conspicuously absent from her birthday celebrations, those being Lena Dunham, Emma Stone, Karlie Kloss, Ed Sheeran, and of course, Lorde.
Lorde, like so many other 18-year-old fans of Taylor, made her well-wishes via Tumblr, saying of her fellow pop star. ‘Today one of my sisters turns 25. sure, she isn’t a reeeal sister, and I haven’t known her thaaat long, but it feels like forever – together, we’ve navigated our respective crazy years in work (her cheering me on as i went to my first award shows, did my first rolling stone cover, wrote for my first movie; me cheering her on as she became a pop titan and conquered the world for what felt like the thousandth time), in love, in friendship, and in growing up.
‘I feel so lucky being part of this amazing circle of girls who are there for each other, dancing without inhibition, laughing for hours, and killing it at work, and we're pretty much all here ’cause of her. What I’m trying to say is, she’s magic.’
The post (which is making us all a bit blushy now) ends with, ‘It makes me all blushy knowing she’s got my back, and from the other side of the world, I’m thinking of her on her special day.’
Nothing to keep you grounded like a girl from the New Zealand suburbs for a BFF, right?
