When it comes to dating, Taylor Swiftknows a thing or two about matters of the heart. Break-ups, make-ups, friendships, rumours; Taylor’s dating trajectory plays out like a country and western song, which is handy.

She’s one of the most recognisable singers in the world, so entering in to a relationship with Taylor Swift comes with an unwritten, yet obvious caveat that said relationship is going to be played out in the press. A lot.

A subject which Matt Healy, lead singer of The 1975 and one time rumoured beau of Taylor Swift is still coming to terms with.

In a recent interview with Q Magazine, Matt spoke candidly on the subject of dating Taylor, even though they never dated. Take it away, Matt:

‘I don’t do anything else, right, so it doesn’t leave a lot of room for me going out, or shagging someone,’ he explained. Poor Matt.

‘So the one time I did have a flirtation with a girl it ends up going everywhere… I mean, I got on E! News and people were like, “Who’s Matt Healy?” so that was cool.’

Whilst a Taylor association was ‘cool’, being her actual boyfriend would have been awful. The worst. Eww. Let Matt explain:

‘If I had gone out with Taylor Swift I would’ve been, “F***ing hell! I am NOT being Taylor Swift’s boyfriend”,

‘You know, “F***. THAT.” That’s also a man thing, a de-masculinating, emasculating thing.’

It’s alright, we think Taylor is quite happy with Calvin Harris. Here’s some proof she’s doing OK….
