Something tells us the judge who dismissed this case against Taylor Swift was a Swifty.
After Jessie Braham accused Taylor of taking lyrics for her song 'Shake it Off' from his track 'Haters Gone Hate' (he claimed 92% was plagiarised from his) the case was brought to court this week, only to be dismissed due to lack of evidence. And the way the verdict was delivered by United States District Court judge Gail Standish is sure to win the hearts of Taylor fans everywhere.
Standish weaved Taylor lyrics into the verdict seamlessly - if only they were set to music it would have been so perfect.
“At present, the Court is not saying that Braham can never, ever, ever get his case back in court,” Standish wrote. “But, for now, we have got problems, and the Court is not sure Braham can solve them. As currently drafted, the Complaint has a blank space—one that requires Braham to do more than write his name. And, upon consideration of the Court's explanation . . . Braham may discover that mere pleading Band-Aids will not fix the bullet holes in his case. At least for the moment, Defendants have shaken off this lawsuit.”
