Taylor Swift Just Made An Unexpected Appearance At The Golden Globes

In the ultimate display of pop queens supporting pop queens, Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance at the 76th Golden Globes to present Lady Gaga with her award for Best Original Song – Motion Picture, for A Star Is Born track Shallow.

Presenting with her Cats co-star Idris Elba – whose daughter Isan Elba was this year’s Golden Globe Ambassador – Taylor looked incredible in a black semi-sheer dress with thigh split, as she handed over the trophy to Lady Gaga.

Gaga, overwhelmed with emotion, took to the stage alongside co-writers Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt to accept the accolade.

“When you write a song with Lady Gaga, all you're doing is making yourself the best supporting cast you can be,” said Mark.

"As a woman in music, it is very hard to be taken seriously as a musician,” responded Lady Gaga, thanking her co-writers for the experience of working on A Star Is Born together. She then turned to the movie’s director and star, Bradley Cooper, who watched from his table. “Bradley, I love you,” said Gaga.

Lady Gaga has spent the past few weeks launching her Enigma Las Vegas residency at Park Theater at Park MGM, returning to the stage on 17 January, with shows throughout 2019. Fellow pop star and one-time Taylor Swift nemesis, Katy Perry, was in the audience for opening night.

Taylor, meanwhile, dropped her Reputation Netflix concert special on New Year’s Eve. While she didn’t walk the red carpet at the Globes, boyfriend Joe Alwyn did, initially sparking confusion as to why he was there without his superstar girlfriend. Glad that’s THOSE split rumours cleared up.

Joe stars in one of this year’s Best Motion Picture – Musical Or Comedy nominees, The Favourite. A Star Is Born is nominated for five Golden Globes in total – stay tuned to Grazia for the full list of winners at the end of the show.
