If we weren't content with the actual video to Taylor Swift's* Shake It Off* (nope, not a cover of Mariah Carey's song of the same name), she's released some out-takes. Yep, it's a video basically comprising Taylor Swift never fitting in with any dancing troupe until she's with a bunch of her own dorky, gawky pastel-clad mates. So it may come as surprise that a video where things are meant to go wrong actually has out-takes.
On closer inspection, nothing actually goes wrong in the 'out-takes'. The 3 minute 49 second video is a pristine, glossy behind-the-scenes look at what happens on a video shoot with Taylor Swift. Plus, there's another out-takes video on its way.
In the interview section of the out-takes, Taylor goes into detail about the positively awkward message of the song: 'A lot of people who I think will relate to this song are people who are dealing with not ever really feeling cool with themselves, because other people make them feel like they don’t fit in.'
Talking about feeling 'impostor syndrome' herself, she added: 'One thing I learned in this whole process is you can get everything you want in life without ever feeling like you fit in.'
'Selling millions of records doesn’t make me feel cool; it makes me feel proud and like I have a lot of people on my side and I’ve worked really hard. But I don’t think it’s the most important thing in life to fit in.'
Then, with a really serious grin to the camera, she says: 'I think it’s the most important thing in life to dance to the beat of your own drum and to look like you’re having more fun than the people who look cool like they fit in.'

The problem with Taylor's new tack of taking a pop at the haters instead of her exes is it's a lot harder to track down who she's throwing shade to. Maybe, if she really doesn't care about fitting in, they'll be named in the second video. Don't hold your breath, though…
