Since the release of Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood video, and the subsequent 1989 Tour (or as we like to call it, the ‘Please Welcome To The Stage’ tour), the singer is now as famed for her endless squad of successful and beautiful celebrity peers as she is for her music.
From photogenic 4th of July barbeques (with added Tom Hiddleston) to glamorous red carpet appearances, messing around poolside with inflatable creatures to nights in with Taylor’s cats, Instagram would have us believe that every moment is a #squadgoals moment.
But according to Swift’s Bad Blood video co-star Hailee Steinfeld, all is not as it seems online, because – spoiler alert – this group doesn’t actually hang out together that often.
In a new interview for Seventeen magazine, the 19-year-old actress, a long-time friend of Swift and core member of the squad since its genesis in 2014, fact-checked our preconceptions, revealing ‘I think people think we spend a lot more time together than we actually do!’
However, the star is still full of praise for her friend, following up with ‘She’s amazing though!’ No feud here, guys.
To be fair to Taylor and her genetically blessed girl gang, Hailee’s admission isn’t exactly that surprising. Given the fact that pretty much every squad member has a high-flying career as a chart-topping singer, award-winning actress, professional Angel or famous Instagram person, their packed schedules probably don’t leave a huge amount of space for, you know, watching bad Saturday night TV, heading out for ‘just one’ after-work drink or making ‘ironic’ trips to Nandos. Just imagining the endless scheduling chat on their #BadBlood Whatsapp group is making us feel very, very stressed indeed. Can we suggest making a Doodle poll?
