For some odd reason – maybe it’s because she’s used her heartbreak as material for her songs, maybe it’s because we all follow her life just a little bit too closely – Taylor Swift has become known for some sort of boy obsession.
And she’s not happy about this reputation. She’s said that she’s gone off relationships because: ‘There is no easy way to engage with romance.’
She said: ‘It’s kind of a sad the way I got there, though, being shamed into it. What else is it when you have two boyfriends in one year and everyone’s calling you boy crazy, making jokes about you at awards shows?
‘That’s public humiliation,’ she told Glamour, adding, ‘And I don’t think it’s fair’.
Nope, it’s not fair at all. However, it’s pretty sweet that Calvin Harris has managed to win her over (we guess the interview was done pre-Calvin) despite these claims that she’s done with romance.
What’s for sure is she’ll keep her female friends close. She shouted them out, saying: ‘It’s a circle of really strong women who I depend on. Sometimes we’ll have a theme night; we’ll be, like, tonight we’re dressing up, we’re drinking Shirley Temples and we’re going to the new Ralph Lauren restaurant.’
…um. Maybe she’s just too old to have boyfriends and should instead call them ‘companions’?
