It-girl of the moment Taylor Hill made waves last week when she was unveiled as the new face of Topshopand it looks like her stylish siblings may be about to follow in her footsteps as big-hitters in the modelling industry. Her younger brother Chase and sister Mackinley have also been signed to her agency, IMG.
18-year-old Mackinley shares her sister’s long brunette locks and Victoria’s Secret-ready lean bod. She’s been in the business a while, having been discovered at the age of 13, and she’s already starting to amass a hefty following on Instagram (46.5K and counting).
With his brooding dark looks and millpond blue eyes, Chase is already setting fashion pulses racing, but he was initially sceptical about joining the modelling fold. ‘At first I was like, I don’t really want to do that, I wasn’t really interested in that,’ he told fans in a Q&A video on YouTube{
Perhaps with an eye to future world domination, the family already have their own YouTube channel, The Hill Sisters and Chase{
And while Taylor has staged a model takeover of the fashion industry, booking major campaigns for H&M, Intimissimi and Forever 21, and walking for top designers from Dolce and Gabbana to DKNY, her little sis seems to have one eye on an acting career. She revealed (on YouTube, naturally) that she’s been taking acting classes and has already signed an LA acting agency in a bid to secure roles.
The trio have another sister, Logan, who is a photographer and regularly appears in their vlogs and Instagram posts.
As we get ready to usher in the reign of The Hills, we look at some other model families ruling the runways…
The Hadids
Their mum Yolanda Foster was a model and starred in the hit TV series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, so it was only a matter of time before her three children joined the family business and became models themselves. Little Gigi was discovered at the age of two, when she started modelling with Baby Guess, later rising to supermodel status and walking for many of the world’s top designers. Bella began modelling at 16 and, like her sister, has walked the top international runways and booked a series of high profile campaigns, including Balmain, Victoria’s Secret PINK and Marc Jacobs. 16-year old Anwar is the latest Hadid to hit the big time, modelling for Teen Vogue and Nylon magazine, among others.
The Jaggers
With one of the original supermodels of the 70s (before the term was even coined) as a mum and rock royalty Mick Jagger as their dad, it’s unsurprising that Jerry Hall’s children would grow up to become leggy glamazons just like their mum. Lizzy’s first appearance on the catwalk was in 1998 when she walked for Thierry Mugler alongside Jerry. She’s since gone on modelling superstardom, appearing in campaigns for Tommy Hilfiger and Lancôme. Meanwhile, little sis Georgia May’s career has gone stratospheric – she’s modelled for everyone from Chanel, to Miu Miu, Versace, Vivienne Westwood and H&M. She’s also well-known as the face of Rimmel, alongside Kate Moss.
The Crawford/Gerbers
Cindy Crawford’s greatest career achievements came in the 1990s, but her personal legacy was created in the noughties when her children Kaia and Presley Gerber were born. Cindy’s mini-me, 14-year-old Kaiais following in her mother’s fashionable footsteps, having already modelled for Miu Miu and recently appearing in a photo shoot for Love magazine shot by model of the moment, Kendall Jenner. Her older brother Presley is also garnering the attention of the fash-pack after walking for Dolce & Gabbana’s SS17 show.
The Delevingnes
Eldest sister Poppy Delevingne was first to the modelling game, having been a muse of Matthew Williamson and starring in campaigns for a series of high profile brands including Anya Hindmarch, Alberta Ferretti and Burberry. It was Cara, however, who really set the fashion world alight, propelling to fame after being scouted by Christopher Bailey and starring in Burberry’s spring/summer 2011 campaign. Since then she has booked some of the biggest jobs in the business, walking for everyone from Chanel, to Oscar de la Renta, Moschino, Dolce & Gabbana and Stella McCartney, to name just a few.
The Mosses
There are very few designers left who haven’t worked with the legendary Kate, who began her career in 1988 after famously being discovered at the age of 14 at JFK airport by Storm Management’s Sarah Doukas. Mossy’s younger half-sister Charlotte (known as Lottie) signed to Storm in 2014 at the age of 16 as part of their New Faces division and has since gone on to book high profile campaigns for Calvin Klein and Dior.
It seems the key to modelling success really is all in the family…
