We know Tavi can write. We know Tavi can interview. We know Tavi can act, and later this year will see her really test her acting chops with a run on Broadway in New York. The feminist blogger-turned-everything has scored a role in the Kenneth Lonergan drama This Is Our Youth alongside Michael Cera and Kieran Culkin.

The play will first run from 10-27 June at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Upstairs Theatre, and will move to Broadway on 18 August for previews at the Cort Theatre. The official run on Broadway be from 11 September to January.

Gevinson tweeted the news herself, saying, ‘Everything Happens So Much,’ and posting a link to the Playbill story.

The play centres on three wayward rich kids living on Manhattan’s Upper East Side in 1982. Tavi plays Jessica, a fashion student. There’s drugs, stealing and all that usual prep school misbehaviour. Count us in, please!

Tavi had a role in the 2013 movie Enough Said, which co-starred Julia Louis-Dreyfus and James Gandolfini, in which she was amazing, so we’re excited to see her flex her acting muscles onstage.
