Taylor Swift’s got a pretty sweet track record for having loads and loads and loads of famous female friends. But this weekend it stepped up a notch or 12. The expected friendship parade – it was literally a parade down a stage – was at her New Jersey gig where she walked along to her song Bad Blood with models Gigi Hadid and Lily Aldridge and actresses Hailee Steinfeld and Lena Dunham (who uploaded a photo of it all with the comment, ‘But seriously, how did that drug addicted secretary get up there? Or is she a runaway cellist? Oh I know it’s a 7th grade boy who is into tech theater.’)
The less expected, is when she got the women’s US football (they say ‘soccer’) team to join her on stage. After all, they’ve just won a World Cup.
But, truly, really, the most obscure addition to Taylor Swift’s world-straddling girl gang… is Susan Boyle!
Susan, who turned up to T In The Park this weekend was asked about that time she hung out with Taylor a couple of weeks ago – when Taylor was in Scotland on tour.
And she didn’t hold back: ‘I met her a couple of weeks ago. She was great – a really lovely polite girl,’ said Susan. When she got out of the lift, she screamed “Susan Boyle” and gave me a big hug,’ the singer told The Scottish Sun. ‘Taylor asked her mum to take a picture of us together on her phone. That was funny – I’m just a wee woman from Blackburn!’
Then, she gave her opinion on Taylor’s relationship with her own fellow Scot Calvin Harris: ‘Calvin is a very lucky boy – Taylor’s a beauty.’
Should Susan Boyle walk the stage with Taylor Swift or appear as a cigar-puffing villain in any of her videos, or if they hang out to do some Scottish-themed baking (drop scones, anyone?) we’ll keep you posted. But don’t be surprised if it does happen, is all we’re saying.
