Tributes have been pouring in following the death of one of Britain’s most talented female comedians, Caroline Aherne, who has died following a battle with cancer aged 52.
She died at her home in Timperley, Greater Manchester, her publicist confirmed.
Friends and entertainers have been expressing their shock and sorrow on social media at the news, as well as paying tribute to the star.
Aherne was best known for her roles in The Royal Family and Mrs Merton and most recently for voicing the hugely popular Gogglebox.
