First kisses are pressuring enough without cameras in your face. There’s a lot to think about for the big moment...
**1. Am I ready? **
2. Breath mint prep beforehand
**3. How much tongue is too much? **
**4. How long do I kiss for? **
**5. DO I ACTUALLY LIKE THIS BOY IN FRONT OF ME? **
But, for these A-list stars they had a whole cast and crew gawping from the sidelines for their first smooch. And these might just be the best first kiss stories we have ever read – from the good (ended up marrying first on and off-screen kiss), the bad (missed actual lips) and the ugly (genuine mortification)…
Mila Kunis
Okay, so this is actually too cute to be true. Mila Kunis had her first kiss with her future husband (!) - Ashton Kutcher- at the tender age of 14-years-old when they starred in comedy That ‘70s Show (‘I had the biggest crush on him,' Mila says). During a recent radio interview, Ashton Kutcher revealed how it was purely platonic, and even helped her with her chemistry homework: 'I was 19, she was like 14. I think I was her first kiss, like, on the show. We have our first kiss memorialized on a TV show!'
'It was really awkward because I'm like a 19-year-old kid,' he continues. 'She was 14! She was like my little sister. I wanted to make sure she was okay.'
Jesse Eisenberg
The Social Network star's big screen debut marked another important milestone in his life. ‘I kissed this great actress Jennifer Beale in a movie Roger Dodger – I was 18 or 19 – I got to kiss her – that was before I’d ever had a girlfriend or even had a date. I don’t know that she agrees, but for me it was life changing.’AWWWWW.
Josh Hutcherson
Whereas the Hunger Games actor's first foray into kissing wasn’t quite as complimentary. 'I was 11 years old and I was filming in New York City...it was a horrible first kiss, because I had a crew of like 50 people standing around watching me and it was the most non-real, non-intimate that I could possibly have for my first kiss, I think.'
Selena Gomez
Before Bieber came along, Miss Gomez had had plenty of kissing practice on her Suite Life of Zack & Cody co-star. 'My weirdest kissing story would have to be when I had my first kiss with Dylan Sprouse on Suite Life. I actually leaned in to kiss him and I had my eyes closed a little too early and I ended up missing, like, half of his lips. So it ended up being the most awkward kiss in the world... I was twelve, so it was okay and it was good. Thank goodness he is such an awesome guy.' Phew!
Ashley Benson
Pretty Little Liars actress had her first kiss on US soap opera Days of Our Lives at when she was 15 years-old. 'It was in a party scene. So there were all these extras there, and then you have the whole crew. It was very weird.'
Macaulay Culkin
My Girl will always have a special place in our hearts. But the dramedy about two tween BFFs who fall in love, wasn’t quite as romantic as it appeared. Before the film was released, when asked about his first kiss with co-star Anna Chlumsky, an 11-year old Macaulay Culkin replied simply: 'Yeeeccchhhk. It was like, fifteen takes. All angles. Yeeecchhhkkk.' Although it did end up winning an MTV Best Kiss award in 1991, so swings and roundabouts.
Claire Danes
So Miss Danes has had her fair share of iconic kissing moments on-screen from Stardust to Romeo & Juliet (er, best kiss ever?). But as any true ‘90s kid will know, it was her relationship with broody Jared Leto in teen drama My So Called Life that we all secretly wanted ourselves. Claire, who was 15-years-old at the time said: ‘He [Jared] guided me through it and educated me on how to, like, make out.’
Saoirse Ronan
A 10-year old Saoirse Ronan was definitely not happy being asked to kiss a boy in I Could Never Be Your Woman. 'I went up to the director, who did Clueless and said, ‘Okay. How long do you want me to kiss this guy for because I don’t want this going on for very long? Every time we’d do a take, I’d make sure it was only three seconds and I’d pull away.'
Dakota Fanning
The 22-year old actress was no stranger to filming as a famous child actor, but she wasn’t quite as prepared for her first kiss playing a young Reese Witherspoon in Sweet Home Alabama. 'Beforehand I was really, really nervous because I'd never kissed a boy before and it was on the lips,' a then 7-year-old Dakota shared while promoting the film. 'But then I kind of got used to it and it was kind of fun after a while.'
Yep, that pretty much sums up kissing.
