Back in the nineties, the Spice Girls feminist message inspired women and young girls everywhere. Sporty, Posh, Ginger, Scary and Baby may have sung religiously about girl power, but a new, previously unseen video proves that they stood up for their rights off-camera too.

Leaked on Twitter, the undercover video sees the Spice Girls taking down two men who make misogynist remarks about them while on set of a Polaroid commercial back in 1997.

As the two men suggest that the band, who are dressed in schoolgirl outfits, should show more ‘cleavage’ and ‘midriff’, Geri and Mel C tell the men to ‘f*** off’ dismissing his claims that it would be ‘every man’s fantasy’.

Geri then points a finger in his face and shouts at him ‘chauvinistic pig’. Quite right too.

Next up VB enters the scene mocking one of the guys about his fashion sense. ‘It’s not sunny,” she says, grabbing his sunglasses off his head. ‘Stop trying to look cool.’ Clearly she always had an eye for style...

With the men clearly not backing down Geri tells them, ‘You should know better by now. You’re in the advertising [industry]. What sort of example is that?’
