Lena Dunham and the other four from Girls are all going to be written into an episode of The Simpsons, and they’re going to stir up some trouble.
See, Homer Simpson is going to dump Marge so that he can run off with Candace, a pharmacist who’ll be played by Lena Dunham. And all of her friends, played by the other Girls girls – Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet and Allison Williams – will basically respond by ‘asking her the question that anybody normally would: “Why Homer?”, fulfilling the role that Patty and Selma have played on the show all these years,’ said Al Jean, executive producer of The Simpsons to Entertainment Weekly.
He added: ‘We’re having a Girls reunion, even though Girls is still on the air.’
We eagerly look forward to the episode, which’ll be called Every Man’s Dream and will be the season premiere of the 27th series of the show (yep, there have been a whopping 27 series of the show), but our one quibble is, well, why do none of the Simpsonised versions of the Girls girls look like the Girls girls? We knew they were going to be yellow, sure, but they’re basically unrecognisable!
