Simon Cowell just doesn’t stop working. In fact, he works that much that he’s now cancelled his own 60th birthday party.

According to the MailOnline, the bash was supposed to happen tonight at the Chelsea restaurant, La Famiglia - but the music mogul cancelled the party on Tuesday due to 'scheduling conflicts’, even though he had celebrity guests expected to fly in for the occasion.

Why? The site reports that he is more interested in trying to boost the ratings for Celebrity X Factor{ =nofollow}.

And a spokesperson for Cowell confirmed to the site that the party had been scrapped, saying work was the reason the party was a no go. They said, 'The decision was made to postpone the dinner yesterday morning. Simon's priority is his incredibly busy work schedule over the next month and this, of course, includes the current series of The X Factor as well as other TV and music projects.'

A source added that Simon - who turned 60 earlier this month - is a ‘workaholic’ who ‘doesn’t want people hungover on a Thursday’.

‘Simon's focus is solely on work for now,' the insider said. 'It's no secret Simon is a workaholic and he always strives to improve everything he's involved in. He also doesn’t want people hungover on Thursday and would rather the focus is purely on work - and of course the upcoming shows - rather than celebrating his 60th. His actual birthday was earlier this month anyway - and he had a small dinner in LA. So he's just decided this bigger dinner can wait until December when work starts to calm down.'

A second source added that the cancellation had wreaked havoc for celebs who were planning to go to the party. They added, ' 'Simon had planned a suitably extravagant event for his 60th and had guests flying in from all over the world to celebrate. Cancelling just days before has really thrown people's plans up into the air.'
