In the aftermath of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's acrimonious separation, three of their six children appear to have dropped 'Pitt' from their 'Jolie-Pitt' surnames. Now Shiloh has legally removed the actor's name from hers, and will officially be known as Shiloh Nouvel Jolie.

Three months after she filed to change her name on her 18th birthday in May, with lawyers she had hired and paid for herself, her petition was granted on 19 August, according to legal court documents. There was no formal hearing for the change in names. The name change came weeks after Shiloh - who already goes by 'Shiloh Jolie' on her Instagram page - took out a newspaper ad announcing the name change in July, ahead of its approval by the court.

Brad and Angelina's daughters appear to be distancing themselves from the Hollywood actor in the wake of the bitter split. Eldest daughter Zahara introduced herself as 'Zahara Marley Jolie' when she joined a sorority house in Atlanta last year, while Vivienne, 15, only used her mother's name on the bill of a new Broadway musical. She is listed as the producer's assistant, who happens to be Angelina Jolie, on her new musical The Outsiders.

Meanwhile, their son Pax is apparently on fraught terms with his father after he posted an emotional tirade about Brad Pitt on Father's Day in 2020. He wrote, 'Happy Father’s Day to this world class a**hole!! You time and time again prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person. You have no consideration or empathy toward your 4 youngest children who tremble in fear when in your presence.'

Brad and Angelina – who started dating in 2004, got married in 2014 and separated in 2016 – have six children together, Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins, Vivienne and Knox, 15. It is possible that Pax was referring to the allegations leveraged at Brad about a fateful plane journey from the family's estate in Miraval, France to LA in 2016.

The Oceans 11 actor was accused of physically and verbally assaulting Angelina during the flight in front of their six children. This is an accusation he has denied and has not been charged for.

When the plane landed, it is thought that Angelina requested a divorce and the former couple have been embroiled in a messy divorce battle ever since. In the years that have followed, Brad appears to have grown estranged from some of his children – something that their altered surnames will no doubt serve as proof of.
