Anyone else develop a serious new crush watching last night’s BAFTAs? And no, for once we’re not talking about everyone’s ingénue of choice Lupita Nyong’o. Will Poulter waltzed into our hearts and onto the stage to collect the EE Rising Star Award at last night’s ceremony (previous winners include Kristen Stewart and Chiwetel Ejiofor). Yes he looks mighty fine in a tux, but it was his acceptance speech that really won us over. In it, he got a bit tearful, mentioned his dad, expressed sincere admiration for each and everyone else in the category and nearly swore by accident. LOVE HIM.
Also, if you want your celebrity crushes to be a long-term investment, we suspect Mr Poulter is only going to get better looking, and more charismatic as he gets older, unlike certain crushes of our youth (Robbie Williams, Nick Carter and Adam Rickett, I’m talking to you). Here’s what we know about him so far…
Vital Statistics
Age: 21
From: Hammersmith, London
Significant other? According to the Internet he doesn’t have one. We don't expect that to last though - did you see him in the tux?
Things we love about him
He took his mum to the BAFTAS.
He admitted a to having a raging teenage crush on We’re The Millers co-star Jennifer Aniston, who he then got to snog in the film (even though she was playing his fake stripper mum. Me neither).
In his acceptance speech, he admitted that he cries when he watches Finding Nemo. We find this 90% sweet and 10% a bit of a turn-off, but there you go.
