So, it turns out we just love a Canadian Olympian – who knew? Last week we were shamelessly objectifying the Canadian Bobsleigh Team in their pants and beards, and this week we’ve got a bit strange at the mere mention of Scott Moir, one half of Canada’s crack ice dancing team (in case you’re interested the other half is his longtime dance partner Tessa Virtue. And no, we don’t think they’re a couple, and yes, Tumblr is creaking under the sheer weight of blogs dedicated to their potential couple-domand also the bizzare but enjoyable rumour that they're secretly married with a child).
Proving he’s not just a pretty face (but what a pretty face it is), Moir and Virtue are veritable medal magnets, coming first at the Vancouver Olympics (making them the first North Americans to be crowned Olympics champions) and winning a whole slew of tin at the Turin and Nice World Championships. Thanks to a pretty consistent winning record at home in Canada, they're dripping in more gold than an oligarch's downstairs toilet (topical).

Age: 26

Significant Other? Apparently he’s definitely not going out with Tessa Virtue. But it’s complicated, because they have a connection like no other, that no-one can understand. But no. He used to go out with figure skater Jessica Dube and may or may not be seeing a woman called Cassandra now. Basically, I don’t know. But suffice to say, the Internet cares about his relationship status. A LOT.
Things we love about him
His entire family are mad for the skating. His two brothers and two of his cousins have all been competitive skaters, and his mum and aunt a coaches. Wow, Christmas at their house must be… like a strange episode of Dancing On Ice.
He’s the star of a Canadian reality TV show Tessa & Scott, which looks at the pair’s lives as they train for Sochi. It’s all very cute, apart from the bit where he appears to cock block a bloke who asks Tessa out. That’s a bit weird.
Moir was set up with dancing partner Virtue when he was nine and she was seven…. by his skating coach aunt. Again, cute and creepy in equal measures.
