Serena Williams has shared a series of new photos of her New Orleans wedding via Instagram, including some adorable snaps of her daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.

Her baby girl, who was born at the beginning of September, is seen wearing a white gown as she sits with Williams' mother.

Williams' husband, and Reddit founder, Alexis Ohanian also shared a photo of the happy family.

At the weekend Serena Williams gave her Instagram followers a first look at her wedding dress: a dramatic princess style designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.

The classic white gown appears to feature a strapless bodice and a frothy, full skirt that's straight out of a fairytale - and appropriately so, given that Serena and her now-husband Alexis Ohanian (a co-founder and executive chairman of Reddit) reportedly chose 'Beauty and the Beast' as the theme for their nuptials.

In the photo, tennis legend Serena wears her hair styled into a classic updo, accessorising with a pair of diamond earrings and (of course) her wedding ring, complemented with a pale pink manicure.

The wedding, which took place at NOLA's Contemporary Arts Centre in New Orleans on Thursday, is thought to have been a lavish and star-studded affair, with the leaked guest list including handfuls of Serena's famous friends: we're talking Kim Kardashian West, Beyoncé and Jay Z, Ciara, Kris Jenner, Eva Longoria and sister Venus. Serena and Alexis's two-month-old daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr, was also reportedly at the event.

One rumoured attendee who was unable to make the event, though, was Meghan Markle. The actress is currently working on her seventh and final season of legal drama Suits: it's thought that her filming commitments conflicted with the wedding arrangements, meaning that the star was unable to jet from Toronto (where Suits is filmed) to New Orleans. No word yet on whether Prince Harry would've attended as a plus one, though... Serena opted for multiple dresses throughout the day, meaning that this McQueen number was just the first look in a seriously high-end bridal line up from the tennis star. Given that she has worn Versace for a cluster of recent red carpet occasions, it was speculated that the next style Serena unveils could come courtesy of the uber-glamorous Italian fashion house: speculation that proved true when Vogue unveiled Serena's second and third gowns, both by Versace. The second was 'a beaded and feathered style,' the third a shorter style for the evening's festivities.
