Half a million people descended on Washington yesterday for the biggest Women's march, and amongst the protestors were a number of celebrities. Lena Dunham, Amy Schumer, Katy Perry and many more showed their support for women's rights, but one A-lister went a step further.

Scarlett Johansson took to the stage during the Washington rally to make a rousing anti-Trump speech.

“Trump, I did not vote for you,” she started.

“I want to be able to support you, but first I ask that you support me. Support the men and women today that are anxiously waiting to see if your next moves will drastically affect their lives. Support my daughter, who may actually as a result of the appointments you have made, grow up in a country that is moving backwards and not forwards, and who may potentially not have the right to make choices for her body and her future that your daughter Ivanka has been privileged to have.”

In her address she spoke frankly about her personal experience of using the women's health services that are now at threat, and her hopes for future equality.

“It was actually my clinician at Planned Parenthood who suggested I speak with my pediatrician if I was seeking a referral. She was compassionate and professional and told me she was happy to treat me for regular checkups, and when the time came, for STD and cancer screenings. No judgment. No questions asked. Planned Parenthood provided a safe place where I could be treated with gentle guidance.”

“I ask you to support for all women and our fight for equality in all things, including the fight to be recognized as individuals who know better for ourselves, what is right for our bodies better than any elected official,” the actress concluded.
