Two days ago, it was reported that Scarlett Johansson had filed for divorce from husband Romain Dauriac.
But the actress is not set to reveal the reason behind their split anytime soon.
The 32-year-old revealed in a statement: “As a devoted mother and private person and with complete awareness that my daughter will one day be old enough to read the news about herself, I would only like to say that I will never, ever be commenting on the dissolution of my marriage.”
She continued: “Out of respect for my desires as a parent and out of respect for all working mums, it is with kindness that I ask other parties involved and the media to do the same.”
The estranged couple married at a low-key ceremony back in October 2014, shortly after the birth of their daughter Rose Dorothy.
Rumours speculating that the pair had decided to call it quits began to circulate after Scarlett attended the Academy Awards with her agent as opposed to her husband.
An insider told Us Weekly that 'Scarlett initiated splitting up and made the decision,' feeling like 'they didn't have much in common as far as lifestyle.'
Despite this, the pair reportedly 'have an amicable relationship' and plan to co-parent their two-year-old daughter.
